PUAC aims at alleviating poverty of rural families living in the outskirts of the city of Kompong Speu. The beneficiaries are 156 poor farmers and their families living in 16 villages. PUAC is offering them a scope of services adapted to their main needs. The support given will allow them to improve the quality and the quantity of their agricultural productions and to increase their level of incomes. Farmers receive training for the production of high value added vegetables. The vegetable produces are chemical residue free meaning that there is no use of chemical pesticides during the production. PUAC became an agricultural cooperative since June 2009. The cooperative is managed by farmers and provide services as financial support, quality control, transport and marketing, the procurement of agricultural inputs, and direct support to auto-promotion. |
